The Windows 10 built-in firewall works really well, but the usability is absolutely terrible. There is however a firewall built into Windows. Voided.īut what about the operating system? What of the hundreds of apps, utilities & games that I have installed on my system? Unlike with the web browser, there is no extension API allowing me to easily deploy a tool to monitor how these apps connect to the web. I have them configured in an extreme fashion, where everything that I don’t explicitly allow is blocked. The above quote is the reason I use browser extensions to protect my privacy on the web.
The user decides what web content is acceptable or not in their browser.
